Resolutions?

I have learned over the years, that no matter how much I mean it, my resoultions never get past a couple weeks before they crash and burn. But regardless of this, I do manage to do something to improve myself every year. It may have absolutely nothing to do with resoultions made with a glass of champagne in hand, a little tispy before stroke of midnight...but what does it matter if I am good to myself?

I'm sure I've eaten all the wrong things, not had eight glasses of water a day, not made it to the gym more than once a week, yelled at my mother, and still order a diet coke with my Whopper....Oh well, it's the thought that counts.

2004 has been full of positive changes: moving back home, figuring out what I want to be when I grow up, falling in love, and taking up a new hobby. Not to mention the fact that I have been MUCH better at keeping in touch with my family and friends (pat on the back).

Who knows what new things I might fall into this year....but whatever happens, I know that some of those things will be good for me, and hopefully for other people too. So I give up on resolutions for the new year. I'm doing just fine without them.

Happy New Year, y'all!!

From the Couch...

I have learned, that no matter how well-intentioned I might be...a day off work is filled with sitting on the couch, watching pointless entertinment on TV, clad in very high fashion sweatpants and t-shirt. Oh well, at least I got some dishes washed! Happy Holidays:)

Hellooo Friday!

Right...another Friday and another life lesson (or 2):

1. An A in chemistry is way more satisfying if you were once told that you weren't any good at science or math!!

2. Christmas is supposed to be a season of cheer and giving....Yeah, right. It is this time of year when I get flipped off more in traffic, scowled at if I am first in line at the post office, and would rather stay at home with a good, stiff drink that get knocked over and stepped on at the mall. Thank God for online shopping!

Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend:)

Making Up for Lost Time

I have been slacking in this department lately....between a crazy-busy job and being away for a week and being away on vacation this week. So I have a few life lessons I'd like to share. Anyway, I digress. Without further ado....

1. It is much easier to floss my teeth before I lotion up my feet for the evening. You might has well not even bother.

2. People who are truly famous are much more humble than the people who think they are. For example, I met the man who was Bonnie Raitt's bassist for ten years recently. I also met a 2-bit singer/songwriter at the same conference. Guess who shook my hand and looked me in the eye? And guess who didn't?!

3. I have learned that just thinking of planning a wedding turns perfectly normal people into lunatics. Never you mind that it's not ME we are talking about. And also keep in mind that an engagement has not even occurred!

4. Being a student is alot easier, more productive and more meaningful whe you know what you want to be when you grow up.:)

5. I never really realized what I look like until someone painted me. I suppose it's because another's perspective is alot more objective than your own. And it's really strange when a painting of you is watching you walk across the room. Just think about that....
